Ed Martin, Expert Guide and Driftboat Service,

Salmon River, Pulaski New York

Expert Guide Service providing an alternative to Driftboat fishing, fishing the Salmon River, Sandy Creek and the Sandy's, Grindstone Creek and other Lake Ontario  tributaries.

Kickboats are used on the river for a variety of reasons. The main reason is low water or fishing in a small tributary.  When the Salmon River is running at very low water (less than 300 cfs) there is only one section of the river that you can float with the Driftboat. That section is the upper section from Altmar to Pineville. With the Kickboats, all parts of the Salmon river are accessible, including the Douglaston Salmon Run (which I have season passes for).

With the Kickboat, you can row the Salmon river yourself and check out all the different parts of the runs and pools. You needn't worry about safety, since the river is not high enough to allow you to get into trouble.

The Kickboat also can be used to float the smaller rivers and streams in the area such as, Sandy Creek, in the Rochester area, Grindstone Creek, South Sandy Jefferson County, just to name a few. You will be amazed at how little water is needed to float most any stream. When you come across any obstruction, you can easily pick up the Kickboat and walk around the obstruction. Pick out your favorite river or stream, and I will arrange a float with you.

There is a pack on the back of the Kickboat so you may bring along extra clothing, food, camera, etc. These boats are amazingly versatile, so if you would like to fish using these great crafts, give me a call!
