Salmon River NY Fishing Guide

Driftboat and Streamside Wading Fishing Trips

Starting around Labor Day, or the first weekend in September, the Chinook (King) Salmon and the Coho (Silver) Salmon are the first fish to enter the rivers.

These hard-fighting giant Salmon can be caught by many methods, but the most effective method is drifting through fast water pockets with flies or artificial bait. As a teaching guide, I will teach you how to read the waters of the Salmon River and other tributaries. I will teach you the proper techniques to catch these challenging Salmon legally.

Most years, these fish average 20-25 lbs.

Expert Guide Service will teach you to fish for King Salmon, Coho Salmon, Steelhead Trout and Brown Trout on New York's Famous Salmon River. Click to enlarge.

The Salmon season, on the Salmon River ends about the last week in October just in time for the Steelhead to begin their run up the river.
